Read your policy--the lingo of the policy will prevail. If it says you aren't insured out of the country and your car be stolen in Mexico, you will not get salaried.

Consult with a public adjuster.

Best of luck to you.
Yep, your policy is NOT valid within Mexico. It doesn't matter if it's three miles in, or one inch within.

Read the policy - it says something like, we cover your coup¨¦ in the US, it's possessions and territories, and Canada. THAT'S IT.

There's no "grace milage". Not for Canada, not for Mexico. Canada is covered, Mexico is not.

Sorry. Flat out, you own no coverage.
Your Insurance Co is right; you should have did a more thorough research on that, before you done it, cause, within order to be covered over there, you would've have to get Mexico's Special Coverage for taking in your own vehicle. This is why it's suggested that you rent after going within, instead of taking in your own. As you can see, now, that at hand 's a good reason WHY. You could've found adjectives this out, on-line, too. So I hate to say this, but you're on your own. It's disappointing to say that, but this sort of thing happen all the time over there.
Most insurance singular covers you in the USA and Canada. Even if you are 2 inches inside Mexico you have no coverage. Why do you chew over there were adjectives those places selling "Mexico Insurance" near the border when you were entering Mexico?

Not every insurance company will cover you in Mexico.
its not like a nonspecific rule that applies. its completely depending on what insurance company you have.
One company that does cover you is Farmers Insurance.
They have a 20 mile radius coverage inwardly Mexico from the border.
You should have contacted your agent and verified before travelling.

If your insurance company say that you dont have coverage, then Im afraid you are at a loss here.
