Question near progressive insurance?

Ok heres the deal. Last September we were aid out of our driveway and bumped into our neighbors drivers door on his late 80's mazda mx3. It caused for a moment dent in his car and purely a tiny scratch on our car. We agreed that we will in recent times handle it outside of insurance once spring came. Now that the snow finally melt here, he left a note on our door maxim he wants payment contained by full in 7 days or he will report to our insurance. My question is, progressive told us they put it beneath property damage so there is no deductible but what will this do to our rates if anything? Thank You

it will tilt your rates. anytime a claim is paid out on auto it can affect your rates and progressive is notorious for it. since it be such minor damage you'd be better off paying it yourself. Source(s): agent
Your liability coverage does not have a deductible. The liability coverage is the one that pays for other people's vehicle.

Collision coverage is the one used to repair your car. It has a deductible (if you enjoy it).

If you do not have the money to pay him...report the claim to your insurance company.

This is what insurance is for. Source(s): Insurance Adjuster 12 years
Let them repay the claim and don't worry about rates going up. The increase, if any, contained by rates will surely be less than what they pay out within damages. Why bother to have insurance, if you don't use it ?
