Car insurance: Progressive vs. State Farm?
I'm currently with Progressive and have be very pleased with their service: I be in an accident within August and the entire process was very smooth and took little stab on my part. I worked with one local agent, dropped my motor off at the Progressive repair center where they have my rental waiting for me, and returned the rental there when I came to pick my vehicle up. Plus I never have to wait long to make conversation to someone when I call.
However, I'm newly married and own found we would save a considerable amount by moving my two cars to my husbands policy with State Farm as opposing moving his car to my policy with Progressive.
Please tolerate me know what type of experiences you've had with State Farm and if you would consider their service as excellent as I hold with Progressive.
Even if State Farm is cheaper, it won't be worth the savings if their service is crummy.
Thanks!

I would advise you to be in motion with Progressive. We had State Fart Insurance and everything be fine until, we needed them. They put us through HELL for over 7 months with sub-standard repair work and a car that be ruined. We had to get rid of it and carry a new one at our own expense. The car be brand new too.
I've read a lot of horror stories in the order of Stale Farm. Go with Progressive.
OK - seriously - State Farm's trademark is their customer service. Progressive is not a bad company, but their rates are geared toward a sophisticated risk market. And their claims service has not other been so great - they may be improved very soon, but when I dealt with them a few years ago it be shoddy at best. Quite a few garages that I know won't even work with a Progressive claim.
I have have SF since I was 16 (now 26, married, with 2 kids). My dad have had SF since he was 16, my grandfather have had SF since 1957. We have adjectives shopped around every once in a while - can't find anyone to beat our rates - or the service they provide. Plus, SF have so many other products - life and strength insurance, a bank, etc. All or most of your insurance and financial needs can be met at one place.
State Farm claims service is second to none - if you are not happy, they do whatever is in their power to accommodate you. Of course, you can't please every one adjectives the time. I have been within an at fault accident, have my car vandalized, in fact had a car stolen while on break, and been in a not at error accident - every incident went smoothly. And, hey, everyone is human - if at hand was something I was unsure of or thought might be wrong, I could send for the claim rep or my agent and they would explain it so I understood or correct a mistake if there be one.
Go with your husband and sit down with someone surrounded by his agent's office and see how you feel in the region of their service. Ask questions about the claims service, etc.
I would really recommend you go with State Farm - especially since the price is better! Source(s): Licensed Insurance Producer - Used to work next to Progressive - now work for an SF agent.
I'm surprised State Farm is cheaper than Progressive, really surprised. I never have a good experience with them. I be hit by one of their insureds and the adjuster was rude and hateful. Progressive have worked hard for their reputation, they are a great company from what I can tell. I be hit, yet again, by one of their insureds and I had a much better experience...kinda close to the one you had. I was seriously impressed, but not impressed plenty to leave Geico. I really do not suggest you go next to State Farm, I would stay with Progressive or look around. I highly suggest you stay away from Unitrin Direct as all right. About 3 years ago I switched my Auto Insurance Coverage to Unitrin and it was a nightmare! I hope this helps contained by some way! Good Luck!
I'm surprised State Farm is cheaper. I was near them and believe me if there is a problem they don't work with you and your rates run up. They must not know about the accident you be in because it usually doesn't matter whose blame it was your rates are higher when they quote it. Maybe clutch State Farm for 6mos or a year and when the rates go up get a quote from progressive again.
