Does anyone buy things online? Why do they emergency Insurance?
I just bought 2 pairs of trainers off this foreign website, it say the price under it and also free shipping. Though when you go to the checkout, insurance pops up and automatically add that to the total amount.
One pair was $37 and they give $13 insurance. It was $20 insurance when i bought 2 pairs.
I just looked at a double act of sunglasses they had on their website which cost $16, they ask for $34 insurance!
(Which also totals $50, the same price if you be buy one pair of trainers. coinceidence?)
So whats this? I've bought things online before, but never have to pay insurance, just shipping. $34 higher than the glasses is very steep.

The fact that you are suspicious must tell you everything you involve to know.
It sounds like this company is just taking supremacy of people by charging ridiculously high insurance rates. I wouldn't buy from them anymore. When I demand things off eBay or other auction sites insurance is usually an option, but if you directive from a regular online store normally they don't offer or require you to purchase insurance. Either style, they sounds like jerks charging that much for insurance!

Ebay - THE FUTURE!
It's a scam ... surrounded by the 'old days' they just charged excessive postage .. now you can 're-order' eBay results on 'price+postage lowest first' the excessive postage cowboys are no longer at the top of your index ... so they have moved onto the 'add massive insurance' scam instead ..
Eventually eBay will wake up to this Scam and tuning the system so you can deselect their 'compulsory' Insurance ..
