That's a real obedient question! I have VSP also and enjoy wondered the same thing. If you find anything out, tolerate me know and I will do the same for you.
The just way you'd be able to do it is to salary out-of-pcoket first, and then try to submit your receipts for reimbursement. With VSP, I'm not sure they will do that. Some insurances require that you go to an acutal provider to use your benefits, and if you choose to be in motion out-of-network, then they will not reimburse you. I've never seen an online contact lens company that submits to insurance. I would read aloud that paying out-of-pocket and then sending your receipts in to your insurance for partial or full reimbursement would be the single way. Source(s): Me - Board Certified Optician
Full VSP benefits can only be used at private office, not Costco, Wal-Mart, etc. I believe you will receive an out-of-network reimbursement through VSP. However, you will have to do all of the billing yourself. Going this route mechanism you lose money because you are not fully utilizing your benefits. Even though the contacts might be a few dollars cheaper per box, it does not make up the difference for the loss in reimbursement. Source(s): optometrist
