You really have to shop around as there as so oodles people offering quotes which vary tremendously.
The internet is one place, if your parents are insured for vehicle try asking their insurance company.
Don't acceot a web quote once you have found agood price, ring this firm up and you might find they or any other company that you ring up will quote you a better accord on the phone.
I do this every year for bike / cars, and usually find 50 to 60 pounds lower premiumns than on line.
You are entitled to ask for a speciman policy so that you can check all of the ''hidden'' extras, worth taking the time to do this.
Enjoy your biking I do and enjoy done for 44 years.
I have had bikes for 9 year presently and i'm 27 so I know what your going through with the insurance, you first problem is your age. at 17 they will see you as "high risk" second is your choice of bike. The problem mortal off road bike in hard to please 125cc can be stolen and sold as off road bikes with the lights etc removed ( I am a police officer) so your bike is glorious risk too. you might be better going for a slighty more expensive sports or cruiser style seems strange that a more expensive bike would be less to insure but it adjectives based on probability not the value of the bike.
your still going to be looking at between lb400 - lb600 insurance I'm afraid but shop around. If I take out correctly I was quoted very dignified premiums by people like Bennetts and Direct vein. your better with brokers such as Swinton, I have both my coupé and bike insured with them I at renewel time I cant beat them.
Good luck and ride nontoxic

My youngest son pays lb260 on an ol 125 Suzuki third party only, he be quoted lb368 for third party fire and theft.
He have a 12 year old Ford Escort, the insurance quoted was lb1,600 third get-together fire and theft.
I insured the vehicle with his autograph as a driver, the cost of the insurance was lb625 which is lb500 more than if he wasn't included.
