Answers:
If you are really broke and have trouble findiing insurance my advice would be to apply for medicaid..They cover everything for you--the birth and the baby afterwards..you foot nothing IF you qualify.
I have United Healthcare PPO. They cover everything except my first $40.00 copay to see a specialist they cover 100% of costs if it's inside network. People aren't automatically covered by medicaid. You have to qualify and hold to meet a criteria (I worked with populace who have medicaid so I kinda know the system)

Also, if you are already pregnant not many insurances will cover you because copious of the find pregnancy to be a pre-existing condition. It varies by insurance company. Source(s): me
I have Aetna and it's covering everything. I'm insured through my parents though so I don't know how much they pay.

Just so you know:
1. I hold only 1 co-pay at $15 for the whole pregnancy
2. I pay envelope $500 to the hospital when I go in to deliver
3. The babe-in-arms is covered for 31 days after birth

EDIT: Julie, you don't automatically get medicaid. You have to qualify. I be going to get it because I thought my dad's insurance wouldn't cover my pregnancy, but they said I made too much money. Source(s): 8w2d
Most of them will, if it is included in the plan. But you may run into trouble if you are already pregnent and want to apply. A lot of them won't adopt you if you are already pregnant.

I think Blue Shield might be your best bet. Cost depends on your age and health history.

medicaid is free and you automatically carry it if you're pregnant.
I have tricare prime its military insurance and it covers everything.I dont hold no co-pay or anything. With my first before I got married I have medicaid and I did the same things I do now.
If you're not working or don't own an insurance plan then it probably would be Medicaid. I know the majority of insurance companies do cover pregnancy. Some may have a deductable or co-pay, though, but you'll own to ask your specific company about it.
