I'm afraid you're out of luck. Insurance companies are very tight next to their money. I live in the States ....so I'm familiar next to private insurance companies. I am also a fellow Canadian that went to school contained by the GTA.

I assume you suggest private medical insurance through a company like SunLife or Great West, etc etc. Each company varies within what they cover and more importantly it is affected by what your company has negotiate with them (assuming it is provided by your employer). Larger companies tend to have better benefits because they can afford to negotiate more, where on earth a smaller company will have higher premiums and usually doesn't apply for more than the undeveloped packages. But this will depend on your own specific insurance pack.

When you first joined the plan, be it through work or privately on your own, you will have received a group guide that is a booklet that outlines exactly what they will and won't cover and the conditions for each claim you spawn. Consult this to find out what your coverage is.

If you can't find your booklet or don't understand it, speak with the soul who administers your plan - if it is at work it will usually be your HR manager. This party will either find out the answer or suggest you call the company directly to ask. Each company will hold a toll free number to call for things like this and you will involve your company group number and your personal id number as well so they can look it up.

All of that said, largely insurance companies only pay out for claims that are medically crucial -- so if for some reason your doctor says you have need of to have the extra scan and it needs to be 3D or 4D so they can see something they wouldn't in general see, then there is a casual it may be covered. However, I don't think there is anything that can be see on a 3D scan that is medically needed - they would do other tests previously doing a 3D scan.

NOPE
Insurance doesn't cover any 3/4D ultrasounds! They are called elective procedures so you have to wage out ot pocket! I'm getting mine done on Thursday. I have to pay 150.00 for it. Source(s): 32wks pregnant beside princess #1<3
I live closer to Niagara Falls ontario, and I'm pretty sure 3d/4d are not covered under any medical insurance. But it depends on the company that your next to.

You need to phone up the company that your insurance is with and ask them.
