New Aetna Medical insurance?
Don't have the cards yet, of late temporary printed ones.
They only own group numbers on them, no member ID numbers.
Any idea what I'll call for from Aetna to provide to my son's pediatrician to get his 1 year check up covered by the insurance?
"> Hi- do NOT expect your office to phone call and figure out your copay and benefits for you at your appointment, most offices consider this tolerant responsibility and will not pick up the phone and hold for 20 minutes with the insurance company for an office call on to figure out your info. Just give the department your card and more than likely your son's ss# will be what they will use, unless the insurance card has a different cross on it- like yours or your hubby's. Then they will need the policy holder's info. Source(s): I work surrounded by a medical billing office.
When you go to the Ped organization, tell them you just get new insurance and give them Aetna's phone number (they own a special number just for providers to call) and they office will find out what is covered and what your co-pay is. If you want to do it ahead of time, try calling the Ped beforehand and explain to them all this information over the phone. They deal near insurance companies all day long and know what to read aloud and do. Source(s): Have Aetna too
