Medical insurance coverage contained by Colorado?
I live in Colorado and I cannot afford medical insurance for my daughter through my employer and I earn too much money to qualify for CHP.
My daughter's father can't even make the minimum child support payments short factoring medical insurance premium.
What I want to know is... Is it illegal not to have medical insurance even if I can't afford it. What will/can take place within the court system?
Thanks for the help!

It's not informal, but if the court has ordered YOU to buy the health insurance and you don't, you're within contempt of the court order. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
No, it's not illegal unless the court has ordered you to buy it. But it's not a devout idea, so get it as soon as you can afford to.
It’s not illicit (yet) to not carry health insurance. If you are involved within some sort of custody battle, a judge might not look favorably on your endorsement up health insurance at work if you can afford it. If you can’t afford it, then it shouldn’t be held against you.
Group insurance through your employer should be the lowest possible expensive you can find, but you might check to see if your employer has a Health Saving Account (HSA). This account allows you to set aside money for insurance until that time it is taxed (Social Security and income tax). This tax reserves means that your health insurance dollars are worth 10-30% more, since you use them back taxes are taken out. To have an HAS plan, you have to sign up for a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Since the deductible is soaring, the premiums are very low (and remember you’re paying them with tax-free dollars). This could squirrel away you money and show the court that you have insurance.
To find a qualified HDHP plan or just to compare regular insurance prices, log on to a site approaching http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a request for quote. You will be contacted by a local insurance broker who will contact all the reputable vigour insurance companies to find the best price for you. You are not obligate to buy, so it's worth a try. Good luck!
