What is the cost of Medical Insurance for an 18 year older?
I am a 17 year old senior in St. Louis, Mo. I plan to move out of my parents house promptly after the college year is over. My boyfriend and I have been doing a great deal of research on apartments and creating a budget. My biggest concern though, is medical insurance.. I'm not sure how much it is going to cost us to be able to have it..
I would really appreciate an average monthly duty, (or at least an idea)
Thank you!

IF you're healthy, it's going to cost you just about $200 a month, per person, for a good, low deductible plan. No parenthood benefits. No vision or dental.
Cheapest way to draw from health insurance, is through your employer. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
I would advise not shacking up and staying on your parent's insurance. Your medical insurance costs will be determined by the company you choose and your medical history. A full-time student can remain on their parent's insurance until age 25.
GHP be always a great company to work with when I worked at Citimortgage. They do medical insurance as in good health for individuals. Again, it really depends on your history and what you want covered, and how much you want covered. Right now our family of 3 costs $13,000/year at United Healthcare. and you can complete a questioneere to donate you a "rough" quote.
At your age, unless you have a lot of bad health or plan to have a baby right away - you should consider a "HSA" (health reserves account).
It will have a higher deductible but the benefits cover - q-tips, cotton ball, dental, vision and the account basically keeps building up with interest.... it is really something to consider.
Other perceptive, "john alden" and humana are just a couple more you could consider.
Gabriella M, Home insurance is actually very flexible. I'm not up to date with all the fine print of my homeowners policy, but my homeowners insurance agent is other a phone call away. Try contacting your agent or a agent in your town. http://www.easyhomeinsuranceguide.com They should be capable of help you.
There is no "average" because if you were in Maryland it'd be around $100 including parenthood. So, don't look for an average cost. Call a health insurance broker that does business where you are and carry the correct information.
It's not expensive though....relatively speaking.
Contact a local UNITED AMERICAN insurance company in your nouns. Being that you are 17 and I'm sure in good strength. We have a $50,000 policy that would cover doctor and hospital coverage and a low deductible of $500 feel free to email if you own any questions
