Did your medical insurance cover your pregnancy?

My hubby and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas through his employer and were wondering when I return with preggers will it cover it? Did you have to pay anything out of pocket? Thanks.

if it doesn't, you can other file for medicaid. That's what i had to do since i'm uninsured. The governing body makes a lot of stupid mistakes, but their not going to tolerate a pregnant women be uninsured. There's tons of help out their, you just hold to know to ask. And with the insurance you have, i don't know why it wouldn't cover it. you might own a co-pay fee, but it would still be a million times better then have to do the whole thing out of your pocket. Call and ask them. Source(s): Due Monday.
It really depends on your coverage...
For my 1st daughter I have what eventually became BCBS of Maryland and it covered 100% of maternity keeping but only 80% of nursery care
My 2nd daughter be under BCBS of Maryland as well and everything be 100% covered
My current pregnancy we hold BCBS of Ohio (due to my husbands company being based out of Ohio) and motherliness & nursery are both 80/20 covered... in other words, they cover 80% of it and I pay the rest out of pocket... it sucks!
Insured through the military!!
you would own to check with your insurance company...why don't you just appointment them and ask...i had ohp oreon health plan...which be supposed to cover all my bills but then they didn't because it turned out i have insurance through my fathers job up until i turned 19...i never really lived beside or near my dad so i didn't even know that i had insurance through his errand...but he ended up having to retribution a co pay witch was resembling $2000...but i think that makes up for him not paying any child support for my full life... exceedingly little, i had that with my 1st, the even covered a breastpump that be over 300.00, i think i haqd some 20.00 co-pays after my son was born,
but they covered adjectives my midwife care, would have covered the birth in that, but i ended up going to the hosp, they covered everything there plus my 3 daytime stay, and 2 weeks later covered my US to check for retained placenta, and my hosp stay and blood transfusions after my emercency D&C to remove the placenta.

it was awfully good coverage

they also covered my son for the 1st mth of his life, so if he have needed NICU care it would have covered that, and it covered his very well baby checks

EDIT: i remeber what co-pays i had while PG it be ONLY for chiropratic care, i had to afford them a 20.00 at every appt, but the rest was covered

call the insurance they will dispatch or email you a packet that tells you what IS and what is NOT covered.
like if i have needed a csection that was only 80% covered.
it should if it doesn't there are a lot of senate programs both state and federal that will help with most of the cost
