Need to know if daughter can use her insurance and medical card. we live contained by illinois?
My daughter is 19 and found herself pregnant. She got a medical card, but later found out her father still have insurance on her and I believe the drs. office is taking insurance first and card as secondary. Her step-mother is recounting that it's fraud.

Are you referring to medi-cal? If so, they will use the insurance her father still has on her as the primary and the medi-cal as the secondary, but she have to inform them of this informtation otherwise it would be fraud. But it is not fraud to have both (Ive had both for years on my disabled son.)
It might be fraud - but which path? Her father might have misrepresented her as living in his household or man his dependent, making HIS coverage invalid.
His insurance, though, won't provide ANY coverage for her baby, where welfare insurance - which is what I assume you anticipate by a "medical card" will.
Bottom line - mom, dad, and daughter all enjoy to sit down and talk about this together. She CAN hold both welfare health insurance and private coverage - the private coverage is primary, the welfare would pick up the deductibles.
