From what I know, and have read, they usually recommend that you get some sort of Life Flight Medical Insurance to be flown wager on to the states. Reason being is that your U.S. Insurance may not be enough to cover the costs, and they may not own the type of professional doctor or equipment to do the procedures.

it depends on what type of insurance it is. for instance, i have insurance through my parents and they they worked in the waterway zone, therefore i'm insured in panama as resourcefully as the US
