Why does the American Medical Assoc. consent to insurance co's grant diagnosis?
Answers: ins. sucks
I believe that the Insurance Lobby is so strong that the AMA, the President, and
Congress are all afraid of it. No one seem to have the guts to fight the
Health Insurance Companies.
A perfect example is yesterday's Obama Speech to the AMA. It is common knowledge that the largest wild costs are the Administrative Costs of the Insurance Companies - but in talking almost costs, Obama was careful not to come out and produce a point of this.
the insurance companies hold the purse strings, especially when dealing with medicare patients. the insurance actuaries(who have no TRUE medical experience) decide that if a patient is diagnosed next to, say, congestive heart failure, the insurance company DECIDES that it should embezzle approx 3.2 days and such and such medication and certain tests to provide safekeeping. anything over that, tough shitskies for the hospitals/doctors, and especially the patients. we have needed to discharge a medicare patient home and next RE-ADMIT him later that night so he could draw from the continued care he really needed. its bullshit.
The AMA doesn't own a heck of a lot to do with how you are treated by your insurance company.
My friend Theresa woke up from major surgery ( a Hysterectomy ) with out spasm medication at all. she was contained by agonizing pain for more then an hour . Apparently the doctor have ordered a pain medication that her Medical INS had not approved . Her doctor (surgeon ) be off and it took time to get a hold of him . He be probably out on the golf course.
What insensitive ghouls these people are .
So they'll receive paid.
