If you are approved for state medical aid, they will typically pay 3 months backbone. You could file for bankruptcy, but my suggestion is this. If you are competent to work (i.e. not disabled or in poor health), get a second work. Pay it back as you get compensated. If you are ill as a result of the medical condition, then dawdle until the state medical aid comes through. If they won't pay that bill, then write the business department and advise them about your loss of income and that you will be inept to pay this bill. Give them an option to write it rotten before you go for ruin. Most public hospitals will get reimbursed from the state for unpaid medical bills.
I had two years of $6,000 medical bills due to the awfully high deductible I had and medication and a treatment that was not covered. If I could do it on $21,000 a year, you can too. But if you are getting harassed, next go for the bankruptcy.
Those guys that with the sole purpose do bankruptcy are your best bet. Cheap, and they do a fab job. I eventually have to file because of medical condition.
I reckon filing with the state be a good thing, and because they own to handle a lot of race, it does take some time for them to process your information--a time period that doesn't abet your urgent need. A lot of times, the people billing you can work near you with monthly payments and such. Here in Hawaii, we enjoy agencies in which people oblige find a comfortable payment option for those next to problem paying medical bills. I'm sure there's an agency that you can seek help from inwardly the medical facility. Source(s): I work within a non profit medical facility
most medical companys have a entity called "indigent payment" meaning that they will cut down a bill if the party cannot pay. I don't know if it would still work for you because it seems a long time have passed. Get in touch with them...also you could work out a monthly fee plan. I have done both. I had a 1000 bill and I told them I didn't create enough to they dropped it down to 200. I also have a 700 bill that I simply paid off 100 respectively month till it was gone. It takes time and application to pay off the bills but you can do it.
Once i was discussion to this nurse that told me that if you didn't have any money to pay your medical bill you can compensate as minimum of $1 a month. Now, this is in the state of New York. You go and find out if this is true for your state. Not profoundly of people knows this -- as you would expect, they don't anybody to know things like this. Don't go for ruin. And still find out what is happening with medical insurance from your undertaking or you can apply for it on your own (not from your job). Check on line for these types of medical insurances.
have you talked near the hospital/office to see if they will reduce it? I am not sure you can do that after collections....but it is worth a shot. They will now transport it out of your tax refund respectively year. Don't file bankruptcy.....it isn't worth it. Generally, they don't appointment or bill you, just withhold your refund until it is remunerated.
Just send close to $10 a month!
I once had a bill that I couldnt pay the minimum amount do and definatley couldnt take-home pay the entire thing at once. So i just sent $10-$20 a month! As long as i sent some sort of pay every month they NEVER gave me any problems. Dont stress about it. YOU DO NOT own to file for bankruptcy purely because of this one bill.
This is why CANADA and HEALTHCARE ROCK!!
Talk to the hospital/collections. Vote Democrat. Republicans don't want you to get any money for medical treatment. Source(s): Me.
it is a medical bill, as long as you are paying something they cant send it to collections, even if it is $2 a month. However since it have gone to collections i am not sure what options you have. You may be capable of talk to someone who is willing to oblige you out, they may let you settle for less and set up a contribution plan or they may just be jerks. I construe collections workers are the scum of the earth. If you hold ever been inside a collections call center it is full of nation who you know are up to their asses in debt as well, but they are instructed to do anything it takes to make citizens pay, even if that means that they hold to be the biggest prick on earth.
