What is the best process to negotiate medical bills when you don't hold strength insurance?
My son was involved in an automobile twist of fate and was taken to a nearby er next transferred to a trauma center. He was in ccu next in a private room. Numerous tests be done and several doctors were involved in his thoroughness. He had some medical coverage on his vehicle and before they will distribute me a definite price they want to know how much insurance he had. He have $25,000 coverage but that amount will not cover all his expenses for 2 ambulance trips, 2 er's, numerous cat scans, x-rays, doctors, etc. I know medical costs can be negotiate when you can discuss the subject before using their facility but we were within a situation that we weren't thinking about the cost but about his injuries and what needed to be done.
