Your baby is covered under your insurance plan for 30 days. After that time, you will call for to get insurance for your baby. You should inform your husband's work that you will be count the baby...you don't want to leave it until the ultimate minute. We ended up having a 3 week cleft in my son's insurance policy and I was a strung-up mess the whole time hoping he didn't get sick lol

Such a GREAT question. I had duplicate concern. I kept thinking baby would come out, not be insured and I would owe 30K in NICU bills. Im glad to know that the toddler is covered at least for the hospital. After I get out I will freshly add him or her to my insurance.
