Are most medical question here because of deficiency of INSURANCE?
I can understand people asking give or take a few losing weight, especially the young ones, and I can think through about anyone's curiosity regarding something atypical they notice about their condition. And I can also understand about folks suffering from a disease asking from others suffering it as well, since a lot of information can be exchanged about different meds, diets, treatments, etc.
But I cannot begin to comprehend the amount of people here asking give or take a few ways to treat pain, ailments, even diseases such as cancer, hepatitis, suspected tumors(!), etc., etc. So I wonder is this mostly due to so many millions of empire in the US lacking form insurance? Afraid to dial up a doctor? Afraid to go to nearest emergency room because it will cost them an arm and a leg?
I should suppose contacting their politicians, via phone, email, letters, etc., would help out much than asking for "remedies" here!!

A few reasons why I think relatives post medical questions here.
1. People like to hear from other population about their problems/issues. Health issues are not something that you can always reach a deal to your friends or coworkers about (embarrassment or other fear). The boards here are anonymous and you don't have to alarm snickers or whispers behind your put a bet on about something you ask.
2. Because of the rising costs involved with condition, it is good to seek information on how to best self-diagnose/treat things beforehand you spend $200 to have a doctor tell you something you already know.
3. Because people are curious about what others dream up. Source(s): Insurance industry for 14 years, dealing with doctor's bills for a lot longer!
No, i mull over that most people are just wondering if it is silly to stop by the doctor about something that is not butchery them. Just painful or uncomfortable. And doctor visit have to be scheduled 2 weeks surrounded by advance so there is lots of time to post a interview here..
