Can anyone update me the history of the New Jersey Life Insurance Company?

I found a policy that my brother bought in 1970 I'm trying to find out if it has any appeal.
Answers:
linda t, Life insurance covers lots of different things. Since I'm from Ohio I'm not familiar with the New Jersey law and regulations, so I suggest you call a nearby insurance agent. http://www.easylifeinsuranceguide.com/Ne… They will know how to help you.

Contact the state insurance commissioner of your state. If the company is not listed in your state, check next to the state where your brother's signature was affixed.

The state will for sure have information on the company.

Tip: Just because the company is named NJ does not indicate it was formed in NJ. It is a technique that could be used by some citizens in Utah as a method to garner business from executives contained by NY.

Once you find the company's information, contact them directly. There may be a retro provision in the law of the state of issue allowing you to collect on a policy lapsed for non-attendance.

Good luck!
