Are in that any enthusiasm insurance companies that will cover someone who's have a recent DUI?

My husband wants life insurance but have a DUI a few months ago. When he applied the insurance company told him he'd have to wait 2 years and that most other companies will articulate the same thing.
Answers:
No they will not. And if they do the premium will be ridiculous. Your husband is a risk to himself and not to mention others. They wouldn't insure somebody with leukemia and they won't insure an alcoholic any.
I could probably find him someone after six months of a clean record if that's his solely offense and his liver enzyme tests are normal (they usually walk high because of excessive drinking over time). It would be at a higher than regular price, but he could reapply down the road to possibly reduce the premium.
Agree. High risk. He'll have to have a verbs record for two years.
No. He's high risk. Just like they won't insure someone next to cancer, they won't insure a drunk. If a company does, the premiums will be very high compared to the average Joe that get coverage.
From an insurance aspect your husband would be a lofty risk. Doesn't matter how little he was over, he be still over. There are companies that will approve him, but it depends how often he drinks. IF he drinks on a regular basis that increases the likelihood of him re-offending and possibly hurting himself or others.

You're best bet is to contact a lisensed insurance broker. They will have access to multiple companies and can find one that doesn't focus as much on a DUI. There's a good uncertainty that the agent you originally spoke to either wanted to brand name sure you came back to him for the business after 2 years or be just plainly uninformed as is the case next to all captive agents (I be one of them before....you get trained on your products and their strengths and how to vend them. They don't teach you about the benefits of the competition). Source(s): Financial Advisor within Canada.
