A penny for your thoughts on public liability insurance?
I'm trying to organise a smallish family event for 100-200 people beside a talk, possibly childrens games etc. I am doing this on behalf of an organisation, with their logo etc. Where do I start off with insurance? Is it even worth looking into this? Thanks

answer 1 is TRUE rubbish! You cannot contract out of your legal obligations beside a sign!
Cover requirements like yours are commonplace, I would suggest contacting a local broker who will get a price inwardly a few hours or take a look at http://www.events-insurance.co.uk/

It really depends on what you are doing and what type of organisation you are talking nearly. It could well be that they have PL cover for the organisation. If your event is a body in a hotel it is likely the have need of for cover will be minimal as it will be difficult to hold the organisation to blame for the hotel (for example) poisoning them.
More information I am afraid.

BTW the answer above is nonsense. In the UK one cannot contract out of one's liability for personal injury. Source(s): I was a liability underwritrer for ten years
