Professional liability insurance for a Nursing Assistant?
Does anyone know if I'm supposed to carry insurance? Or if my employer should? Thank you!

As far as liability insurance is concerned the answer is as always...it depends. Normally you are covered by the employer. THat man said, if you do not establish that you are covered, they may not cover you. Make sure you establish who is paying for your liability coverage from the beginning.
However, as a practical point... there is exceedingly little responsiblity on the MA, as ther job is always assumed to be below the direction of the Nurse/Doctor. In over 30 years working in healthcare, I have never see an MA named in a medical liability suit. The returns are too small. In other words, they will other go for the deep pockets. As an MA you might be covered for up to $100,000 per occurance. whereas, most condition care providers are covered for $5million. Since you are under their direction... who whould your attorney sue??
