If i enjoy liability insurance and i hit a vehicle but the coup¨¦ leaves the happenstance will my insurance take-home pay?

I have liability car insurance and the other light of day a car pulled over in my lane and only stopped i ran into the back of her smashed the front terminate of my car(non driveable) the police said it wasn't my fault and the other car only just left right after it happened. Will my insurance compensate for my car?
Answers:
If you hit someone, but don't have collision coverage, you own to pay for the repairs out of your pocket. Liability only covers defile to someone ELSE's car. By the way, I don't buy that the police told you it wasn't your failing -- anytime you hit someone from behind -- guess what?
Thats a tough hill you are looking to climb.

Most states hold that the driver in the reverse has the responsibility to make sure he/she can stop. Even if the other driver swerved into your lane and stopped, at lowest possible half of the blame would lie near your failure to keep a locked distance. (yeah.. I know - its hard to explain.. but that's just the means of access it is).

So.. with each of you at culpability, and no apparent injuries, your insurance company is less probable to see this as uninsured motorist coverage as one of 'mutual liability' or something like that. If you were both claiming against the other nearby would be some Solomon-like decision, but guess what.. the other guy has split and unless you own a license number or plate its just you and your dent car surrounded by an accident that was, contained by effect, partially your fault. Lacking collision coverage I ponder it will be a loooooong uphill battle to collect anything.. but then again, who know... costs nothing to try.

most of the others are correct;

liability only pays for the other motor if you are found at fault;

the fact that the officer stated you werent at error, does not matter; if you company investigates and determine you were at condemn, that will be their decision; 99% of all flipside end accidents are the breakdown of the driver who rear ends someone; you have a responsiblity to hold on to an assured clear distance and aware of other traffic so you can avoid this;

if you have collsion coverage, your company will pay for your repairs minus your deductible;

if you hold uninsured property damage; umpd, it might cover if your company can determine you were not at culpability; but since you rear ended this creature, that will most likely be shown to be your fault so umpd would not apply;

also; if the other being left the scene and you dont have the those tags etc, who can they go after? most umpd wont earnings if you cant ID the other person; the insurance company has to hold this info to pursue the other party;

it does not appear good to you from the info you provided;

right luck
um... no? You got liability insurance because it be cheaper and by doing so you should have been aware zilch would ever be covered to your car. What did you think liability one and only meant?
i think only if you hold uninsured motorist, but I'm not sure... Get your policy and call a different insurance agency to ask what they think... Tell them you're thinking around switching anyway...
With liability insurance you have no coverage for your vehicle. You are update the states minimum that you are providing financial backing in the shield of an accident. If you get the information of the personality you hit and it is deemed their fault, their insurance will own to pick up the bill. There could be cases where blame is split (60/40, 50/50, 75/25, etc) and then they will pick up their percentage you are liable for the rest. For your insurance company to reward for anything you would have to bump your policy up to where you enjoy comprehensive and collision (full coverage) coverage which in turn have deductible. You should contact your agent to draw from rates on such. It is usually not super expensive (with a good driving record) to have full coverage. I would win a copy of the police report and try to get the other persons information to see if their insurance company is going to repay...you will also want to notify your insurance company of the event. You can/will be penilized for being in an quirk fault or no fault, but if your insurance company know what is going on, they can possibly help.
If you have collision coverage - that will rate for the damage to your car. Liability coverage does not wage for your car - that pays for other peoples property damage. Think nearly it this way - you can't be liable to yourself. You can't go to court and sue yourself for the lay waste to to your car. Therefore, the liability coverage on your policy will not pay you.
Maybe. It's your job to make sure you are not following so closely that within the event the vehicle ahead does stop you have time to safely do so as in good health. The fact that your car is non-driveable also scheme you were probably driving pretty darned fast.

With that mortal said, it stinks that people stop right in the middle of the road...but you own to think about why. They could be stopping for an animal, a piece of refuse, or even a child running into the street. Truly, it doesn't matter why they stopped.

If all you convey is liability, the only way your insurance will cover you is:
1. If they deem it to be a non-fault loss, and
2. If you get uninsured motorist coverage, and
3. If you have the other person's info.

This may open a can of worms for you that you do not want open. Just because the police said it wasn't your fault doesn't mean your insurance will see it like peas in a pod way. Reporting it to your insurance could result in them contacting the other participant and offering to pay for their damages.

I hate to right to be heard it, but it is your job to report this to your insurance co anyway, even if no one get paid. Your liability coverage is in place to protect you, and it's your duty to allow your insurance co to do their errand. If your car has that much destruction, the other one probably does, too. Laws and insurance regulations could vary depending where on earth you are, but in the United States, you'd need "Collision Coverage" to clear for the damage to your car.

Liability coverage is to hold care of damage to the other person's vehicle or injuries to other people.

"uninsured motorists" coverage is usually for injuries to you or people contained by your car - but if your state has uninsured motorists property injure coverage, it might apply - my state doesn't.

It's unusual for an accident where you hit someone surrounded by the rear not to be your fault, so fashion sure you get a copy of the police report and the insurance company gets a copy so your rates don't stir up. Source(s): I'm an insurance agent.
i don't construe they will but double check eith them. Liability is state required minimum to cover ur liabililty if u hit someone else can u remember tags or even make model color of other coup¨¦ because if they can be tracked down their insurance must pay. Also if u have colision or uninsured motorist coverage consequently that will cover u

Good luck to u sorry that happened at least u be not hurt
As long as you can produce a accident report from the police. And proof that it be not your fault.
Also depends on your insurance company if they agree to pay. You can other take it to court...
JUST LIABILITY WITHOUT COLLISION, YOUR INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY.

YOU HAVE THE TAG OF THE OTHER VEHICLE AND A POLICE REPORT SO IF THE POLICE DO THEIR JOB THEY WILL HAVE THE OTHER PARTY IN CUSTODY FOR A HIT AND RUN.

ALSO THEY WILL PROBABLY HAVE NO INSURANCE SO THIS WILL BE A MATTER FOR THE CIVIL COURT SYSTEM

GOOD LUCK. Source(s): 923
