Parking lot disaster - does this nouns resembling there's equal liability to you? My insurance company Geico does?
I parked in a parking lot with angled parking spaces. Along near the arrows on the pavement [the angled spaces also present a big clue] directed you to travel in ONE direction only surrounded by the aisles. I was parked in a Nissan Sentra betwn a Honda Pilot to my Left and a Ford Excursion to my Right. Parking lot traffic be to flow from Left to Right across the back of my car. I checked R, afterwards directly behind and then focused L as I begin to slowly back out - b/c I am having a frozen time seeing beyond the Honda Pilot on my L. As I'm backing out [2-3mph], I feel the crunch. Behind me is a Toyota Landcruiser traveling contained by the WRONG direction in the parking lot - I'm expecting traffic from the L and she comes from the R. I hit the Toyota's passenger side rear tire and side of the backside bumper with the corner of my passenger side rear bumper. Geico say I should've seen the Toyota b/c I hit so far back on the vehicle-I articulate B.S. and challenged them to re-enact to see I couldnt view other coup¨¦.

you tell 'em. that's a nouns of crap. that absolutely sounds like NOT your glitch. insurance companies (apparently even those w/cute gecko mascots) are BAD. hope it goes your way.
Good luck with going up against an insurance company.
but i'd say you're not at failing. The other driver is.
If the parking lot has surveillance cameras i'd make sure to gain a copy of what happened. Usually they won't release it w/o a subopena so get yourself a legal representative and do that now before they account over the tape. If you plan to take them to court that would be some mighty crucial evidence.
And for the adjectives, I go to a community college with matching type of parking lot. I see people going the wrong way adjectives the time so I back up like foot by foot and check both ways.
The moment you start trusting other drivers not to be stupid is when you will hold an accident.
I have more than once gone to court over a disagreement with ins companies and won. They are thieve just like motor dealers, and are always trying to cheat relatives.
