Car Co Buyer - Insurance Liability?

All. I stupidly bought a car with my ex GF. I am a "co buyer" of the motor. So far she has made payments to car company which I am not really worried around as I check once a month and I will pay it if she is late.

What really worries me lately is whether i could be liable for anything else. If she doesn’t clear the registration will this mess up my credit?

We never had car insurance together. The motor was added to her mothers policy. If she causes an calamity could I be held liable? If she doesn’t pay her insurance can I be held liable? Is there anything I can do to protect myself. Thanks.
"> solely the finance co/mom covers the insurance/gf is covering the payments so far-- if she dont pay you will own to. save all stubs if you wage to get lien on car/ so far you are good if she dont repay and you dont pay then your credit get bombed Source(s): ben there done that
