Liability insurance classification codes?
I am a contractor. My liability insurance class code is 72478.What exactly is a class code.Is There anywhere that I can look these up?Are these class codes universal (used by all ins. providers)?
"> Let's cart this backwards. There's this organization called Insurance Services Office, and they put out these "classification manuals". A company does NOT hold to use their classification codes, but MOST do. So it's not universal, but it IS common.
You can't look it up, it's copywrited information, HOWEVER, if you look at the rating page on your policy, it should own the complete class code description on it. The complete description would read something like: carpentry, interior, residential. Or woodwork, exterior, under three stories.
You can also ask your AGENT, who can tell you exactly what it is. I don't hold a CGL manual here, so I can't look it up.
