Does a public liability insurance cover unplanned mess up to a proprty that i hold worked on?
i am a self emplyed builder and carried out some work for a client and accidently spilt some resin on imprinted concrete and i want to know if i can claim through my public liability insurance
Answers:
Probably not. Look at your policy, and the definition of "work product". If the concrete was portion of your work product, then only your bond would pinch care of it, not your insurance. Then, you have to repay the bond back, so that's not usually a good hypothesis.
Now, if the concrete was there beforehand your started the job, that may change the answer
Unfortunately, most PL policies do not cover the property truly being worked on. Source(s): I write PL policy wordings for a living.
No
If you niggardly the public liability on your home insurance no.It is for personal things not work connected.
Read the Policy document (you have Insurance and you haven't read the document ??)
You can also ring them up - speak you are a Builder etc. thinking of taking out a Policy and would their Policy cover some common accidents .. for example spilt paint or other substances etc.
it depends how your insurance policy is worded but the chances are not on your side Martin
