What is the best pet insurance available contained by the UK?I used to own Direct Line and they took 9 weeks to rate up!

I have two cats age 7
Answers:
Pet Plan is the best - most vets deal direct next to them so that saves you any hassle - they are also competitvely priced and give vivacity cover which is very important and lots of companies don't which i presume makes their policy a bit pointless!

hope this helps :o) Source(s): insurance clerk
You have the best one direct column are great, and are the cheapest they normally pay up beside in 6 weeks
E&L are the worse for paying up,
pet plan which is www.petplan.co.uk
they have a list of cover from small rodents right up to horses.my dogs and my cat are insured with them and have be for 4 years.
my dog needed extensive surgery last year and all i have to do was pay the 50 pound excess and the vet claimed straight from the insurance company and the vet received the money a week latter
pet plan also cover ongoing treatment for the same condition year after year which a lot of other insurance companies don't.
they distribute a claim form out within a couple of days and there customer service is second to none.
when my dog died a few years ago i be even sent a thinking of you sympathy card from pet plan, they are a great insurance company Source(s): own 3 dogs 4 gunieapigs 3 horses and a cat all insured ith petplan
Tescos are supposed to be pretty good.
stick with direct rank, most will take that long anyway.
i use petplan. they are really worthy. when my dog got attacked and had to own major surgery they were unbelievably good on paying up and giving advice too
Pet Plan. I haven't claimed all the same but my sister has with no problems
I can promise you Petplan is the best insurance within the UK. Hi, I live in Kent by the way :-)

The girl who deal with insurance claims at my vet practice (where I'm a nurse) is a friend of mine and tells me adjectives about the various insurance companies, and which ones are worse for trying to weasel out of paying up. From what I hear something like Direct Line, you're lucky you got paid at adjectives!!

Petplan is probably the most expensive pet insurance - like everything though, you get what you payment for. Petplan are usually happy to pay out (with some exceptions I'm sure) but more importantly, they cover pets for duration. So many companies will only permit you claim once per condition, which is useless really if your pet ends up with diabetes or arthritis or something.

I think Petplan costs roughly speaking lb10-20 per month to insure a moggy, depending on where you live. Here's their website:

HURRY though if you're switching insurance companies because I think they merely insure cats below 8 years of age. Might be 10 years, not sure.

EDIT: what, tesco insurance sucks! They refused to pay for a dog that get kicked in the head by a horse because they 'don't cover accident involving livestock' (well, that's useful then) and they only rewarded out once for this 10 month old dog that got a freak liver abscess. If the dog ever get liver problems again, that's it, no more payment for that. And as someone said, E and L are the worst company, but direct line isn't far losing. Source(s): vet nurse
i find pet plan the best Source(s): used them for years
i use pet plan and when my dog go to the vet and we use the insurance, i just pay the excess to the vet, sign the form and thats it
