Could be time to enjoy a call to a broker and see if there is other for Student housing insurance or the student union Source(s): http://www.cover4insurance.com/student/i…

If each room is rented as a separate contract, then policies are needed for respectively room. However, if it's just you and 4 mates moving into a house as a complete, you only need one policy. When I lived within Liverpool as a student, I used Endsleigh and Admiral.
Hope this helps

There are a range of policies available for student personal possessions insurance - see a local insurance broker.
You should also check to see if your parent's policy covers contents impermanent removed from the home as some policies cover this automatically and others can be extended to cover your specific circumstances.

your landlord should hold insured the exterior and their fixtures and fittings
you should carry insurance for your personal items (anything that is yours to be exact in the property and subject to risk).... effectively its something like household contents insurance..... most insurers can provide it usually rather cheaply. try someone like Endsleigh which used to be a student insurer.. may still be.
your insurance should cover things like clothing, books, shoes, personal possesions keep watch on, clock, radio, CD/MP3 cycle. it may be worth asking your parents to see if there existing housing cover can be extended to cover your needs
Endsleigh Insurance offer specialist scheme for student shared accommodation. Visit http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/ for a online quotation.
I think it goes by if you enjoy locks on the door!? Or something like that. Im not sure if my student house is insured, but my contents are insured by my dad's policy for his home. Although he lives in London, his insurance covers me..so find out something like whoever you mainly reside with, if you are covered on theirs. If not, use a price comparison site and find out what they donate...
