Best Value Pet Insurance (UK only)?

For a 6 year old Corgi which we are adopting from the rescue nucleus?

I want one which is inexpensive but still gives a good deal. My cat is insured next to PetPlan but they are a bit expensive for dogs. . . .
Answers:
Preferably i'd agree with petplan although i don't truly have a dog =) insured my rabbits though lol & that's reasonably priced.
Have compared them against others for dog insurance though as a project, amazingly good value. Source(s): Animal Mgt student
Stick with Petplan. The policies are more expensive, but you will save more contained by the long run. They are the only company that pays out based on what you if truth be told spend rather than what THEY feel is an adequate price. Trust me, if you ever have to use the policy, they pay out seriously more than other companies and cover a lot more stuff. The other companies that charge less surrounded by premiums are always trying to find ways to NOT pay out. Petplan is by far better contained by that aspect.
I had my dogs insured with another company and I never get back from them near what I rewarded my vet where with Petplan they pay envelope exactly what they say they will. They are a far superior company.
I'm told Tesco are very perfect? i must get our dog insurance!!
Keep in touch and agree to me know what you find out please...
i hold tesco's insurance, not an arm and a leg and seems reasonable. it be cheap with a low excess and decent good point coverage.

i'd disagree with anyone who says pet insurance is a con - it doesn't simply cover illness so if your dog does something proper bonkers and hurts people / crashes cars you will also be covered.

(and HOW is a valid answer getting a thumbs down??)
Personally I think petplan insurance is great.
Yes they are a bit pricey but it makes up next to their great costumer care.

I insured mine through Pet Plan, as the dog got elder then the premiums went up and the conditions record went down. I was paying lb20 a month and get back lb36 when I had to take-home pay for her final illness and operation.

I would look for another insurer in adjectives. My present dog had a pe-existing condition and no-one would insure him for a reasonable amount.
You get what you remuneration for! A lot of the cheap insurance don't cover life-long illness so if your dog developed something like diabetes it wouldn't discharge for life long treatment and that particular condition would be excluded.
It depends what sort of cover you require?
A lot of the insurance refuse to pay out when you try to be paid a claim. READ THE SMALL PRINT.
What I did when looking for insurance was to go within my vets and ask them which one they recommended. They are used to dealing with insurance company's and making claims. They told me they recommend pet plan and adjectives the people who work in the vet have pet pan for their dogs. But it IS expensive, not the cheapest, but it give you peace of mind and life time cover. The cheap ones are often not worth have... what's the point of having it if they won't pay out for anything?
why don't you sympathetic a bank account for the dogs vet bill and verbs money into that account every month to pay for any vet bills that process if you don't use it it is still your money. but if you pay ins and never use it then you lose that money this is what i do and at lowest I'm not giving my money away. and i have money in in attendance to pay vet bills if needed because with ins you hold to pay the first lb60 or about sorry but i reckon that insurance is a con i dont give my money away to any one its hard enought to earn it
If your budget allows i would shift with PetPlan every time. All my pets (dogs, cat and rabbits) are all insured near them and they are excellent. I had to claim for the first time a couple weeks ago and they really could not have be more helpfull. I would recommend them to anyone. It might cost you a couple pounds a month extra but it could be well worth it in the fall.
Well done for rescuing and i hope you and your new friend have a fitting future. Source(s): PetPlan customer
yeah i found petplan to expensive for me too. my dog eat expensive ( lb 38 per 15 kg ) food and is one of the family. but i just dont enjoy the money that petplan charge for insurance . so after a lot of research i found ARGOS to be the best for me.
Directline is a dutiful one, I found. Pet plan are very expensive, as is the Kennel Club insurance, though both are very comprehensive. Check that the insurance will cover the lifelong treatment of any condition - some will single cover up to a certain amount, so cheapest isn't always best.
in good health try animal friends they r rather cheap. i have a dalmation which is insured beside them i pay lb16.30p month. They have a incredibly good customer service. also i have my cat insured beside them. costing me lb8.00 a month.
They are expensive, but as others have already said - many of the cheaper ones don't extend great cover, and will try to avoid paying out (ie you're paying for nothing!)

This link might be adjectives to you in deciding which company to be in motion through:

I stayed with Petplan, simply because of those insurers offering me reasonable cover - Petplan be the cheapest *for me*. By all means though - look at other quotes beside M&S, Pinnacle etc.

Good Luck.
Petplan, you can't beat it, as has already be said you'll find cheaper insurance but they really don't compare. Petplan pays out alot more than most others I looked at when shopping around.
I am beside Pet Plan and agree they are expensive, but cant change due to existing conditions. I have hear some excellent reports about Healthy Pets, far cheaper than any others, and no quibble payouts.

Not sure if it will be any perfect but it has to be worth a go. Source(s): http://www.moneysupermarket.com/petinsur…
With pet insurance there is a policy to suit most pockets, but the cover provided usually is reflected contained by the price you pay.

Salisbury's in one of the best, comprehensive policies and smaller number expensive than Pet plan than I have considered.

However, from personal experience, after carefully checking the jargon and conditions of the various plans, I am still on Pet plan Supreme.

When Beau became seriously not a hundred percent with cancer he was referred to the Animal Health Trust to see an oncologist. His bill totalled over lb12,000 over 4 years. Apart from the excess every year, adjectives the bill were quickly settled by Pet plan. He have unlimited cover and we could claim for the rest of his life.

One in four dogs will attain cancer during their lifetime, so worth the extra to me.

Becca got pyometra, taken to the emergency vet, over lb1,000, also thyroid treatment that ran into hundreds, completely covered during her vivacity.

When Tori had abnormal season Pet plan had a pre authorisation form, which let us know contained by advance in the spaying would be covered on the policy. Usually spaying isn't covered. We would own paid anyway, but withing 3 days were told that they would pay cheque the claim.

Shop around, use comparison websites such as(www.moneysupermarket.com/petinsurance… but for me, it's Pet plan Supreme. Source(s): www.moneysupermarket.com/petinsurance
