Car Insurance UK?
I'm confused about something. I've been driving for roughly speaking 7 months and have my own insurance which is fully comp and I pay lb102 respectively month. Only now my boyfriend drives my car but one and only has just passed his exam last month. I need to put him on my insurance as a 2nd driver. Only I'm sure that I own read and when I took out my own insurance that by putting a 2nd driver onto my insurance would lower my rate. However I have been doin online quotes and adjectives of them are basically sayin I'll be paying around lb300 MORE a month, which we cannot afford! I'm confused because I thought that with him human being on it we'll be paying less or around the same amount! Can he embezzle out his own insurance on my car or does he have to budge on mine? Also does anyone know why it'll cost so much more for him to go on mine? Thank you :)

yes, by putting your bf on your insurance it would definately go up. Think nearly it logically, hes only just passed his interview and is inexperienced, as are you. If you want your insurance to go down put someone on who has get lots of driving experience, someone who is older and has held a driving licence for a long length of time, like a parent. No he cannot get a poilcy on your vehicle aswell as you having it.

It is the driver who is insured to drive your car. An inexperienced / young-looking driver will always cost more to insure.
If your bf carry on holding the lisence for three years, in need claim, the premium will come down.
