I want to register my import sports car within UK, do i enjoy to own a UK insurance tag?

My car is from Sweden, i have a SWEDISH INSURANCE CERTIFICATE on it but it's not underneath my name!! anyway i want to register the car here contained by UK, do i have to have a UK INSURANCE or will that one do for the moment??
