your interrogate is vague and confusing. Where is it you live and where is it you want to drive and where on earth is it you want to insure your UK plated car?
Your question isn't clear. Any vehicle can be insured surrounded by the UK provided that it is legally on the road irrespective of 'plates'. A company can pay a premium to his overseas insurer to drive a vehicle in the UK. Hire cars are insured by the rental company. Source(s): 30 years a cop
Driving is allowed surrounded by the whole of Europe.
What you are looking for is a company to take on the risk of insuring a sports car for your use knowing that you do not live in the UK and so will not be with the vehicle for long periods of time. As a UK resident i know that they are not happy when you want to cover a coup¨¦ that is not kept at your own address even though you are at least within the same country as it does bring about some deposit problems.
For example the car might be stolen and you only find that out weeks latter when it is too late to hope to recover it.

You voice that it is to be a company car and you have a Ltd company here. If so you inevitability to look at the Company insuring it, not you personally, and allow the use of it by all body. That might be a way round it. You personally insuring it would not work if it is truly a company sports car as you do not personally own it.
