Anyone started/starting uni contained by UK waiting for national insurance validation?

I'm due to start uni today for induction week and have just presently received my Payment Schedule Letter (timing or what), however it says on it before I can receive any payments my NI number must be verified by the DWP. Has anybody else have this on their PS letter and if so how long did it take for them to verify your NI?
