Use a Thatcham approved lock, get Datatag (or equivalent), rather lock it in a garage, get advanced training adjectives of these will reduce your premium. Try to avoid the route of increasing your excess as this will reduce the amount you can claim.

http://www.datatag.co.uk/

I use ebike haven't have to claim from them but, fingers crossed, they have been pretty cheap.

my insurance when i was 18 closing year on a 125cc geared bike with l plates was lb250 third delegation only!

add a big expensive lock to the policy IT CHOPPED MY PRICE ON HALF
from 500 to 250

hold on to the annual mileage low

do to devitt and get a quote from them there exceptionally good
Not too sure
One thing I can say-so is shop around

Another thing I will have to mention is never flop to an insurance company. If it's not stored in a garage when you claim it is...they will find out and you wont be covered. Same goes for the 'insuarnce approved' locks. If you haven't get one don't state that you have.

Depending on what the excess is, and what your bike's worth. It may just be easier and cheaper to be in motion for Third Party Only cover

http://www.thebikeinsurer.com is worth a try.
I own a big Suzy and find Express Insurance good http://www.expresscarinsurance.co.uk/ (they used to do a special scheme for Suzy's, not sure they do now)
Where the bike is kept at dark will make a large effect as will the post code of where on earth you live if it is high risk.
the best piece to do is shop around, check out comparison websites and compare your insurance, try http://gocompare.com , http://theycompare.co.uk and try http://comparethemarket.com
