If I own two travel insurance policies within the UK, am I competent to claim on both policies for missing luggage?

My luggage may have gone missing at Heathrow T1 after 4 days from returning from holiday. Am I legally entitled to claim on both policies? Policy 'A' is covered by my mound and policy 'B' was taken out by someone else on my behalf. I will/may be claiming against 'British Airways' on the terms of lost luggage (and contents).
Answers:
Generally insurance policies enjoy a provision that if your costs (or in this case losses) are covered by another policy afterwards you are not able to claim them on a second. Attempting to do so is insurance fraud and there are penalty that would far outweigh the financial benefits of double-dipping.

Also, note that most travel policies will pay out one and only when the airline does not reimburse or if they reimburse at an amount lower than what your insurance company covers. Then you will get the difference.

My suggestion is to check with your insurance companies concerning their policies and then file the claim near the one that has the best benefits for your circumstances. Source(s): Experienced international traveler
I think you might be capable of because you are paying into both of them so you should be able to claim,

Good luck if you can

Hope you get it sorted soon
