Will my insurance rates increase if I be a casualty surrounded by a hit and run?

Answers: Not surrounded by Tennessee, but not sure about no-fault states.
Usually no. If you notify the police and there has be an accident report filed it usually does not affect your premium.
NO, as long as you have collision coverage.. If you don't then here isn't anything they can help you with anyways.. Generally the solitary time your rates should go up if if your in an misfortune, and are at fault, and the damages are above 1,000.. If the damages are less than a 1,000 your rates should stay impossible to tell apart.. If your in an accident, and aren't at defect the damages could be any amount, and your rates should stay the same... Unless of course your happenstance prone, and have 20 claims in a month afterwards they may increase... Also if you didn't file a police report for the hit, and run, most likely your insurance company will require it... Source(s): Claims Rep
Sad but true, many insurance companies don't progress by who was at fault anymore, merely how much they have to pay out. Sucks huh? Hardly worth the premium we're forced to income if they're going to penalize us for using the insurance we have in covering we need it!
