Is It True That The Color Of Your Car Affects Your Insurance Rate?
A few of my friends told me this, but I thought this was just a myth. Is it really true, or not?
Answers:
It used to be true as some colors were more expensive to make, as a consequence repairing those car was more expensive. It is not true any more, so it doe not depend on the color. Source(s): http://www.free-auto-quote.com/
MYTH the myth came something like because at one time colors like blue, orange, red, ashen where expensive to mix and not so well used by mass production. Most vehicle where either BLACK, SILVER, GREEN, BROWN, TAN, WHITE, and Beige. Colors that are essentially gray, and black base. If insurance companies are doing that they are idiots since all the colors are evenly priced. Call your insurance company and ask them see what they tell you and if they utter that the color does matter ask them to tell you where on earth they are getting their prices for colors. Then call your local paint shop and they will tell you that RED is merely as Expensive as BLACK.
not true. we do not car if you drive carefully within a red car or carelessly surrounded by a white one Really..there are too many other factor (about 114)
it use to be true, but some company'ss enjoy changed this . red cars would be higher because policemen were more attracted to the bright red, so more cars that are red would receive pulled over and ticketed more.
Nothing but a myth. I used to believe this, and for this exact drive, I did not buy a red car. But after reading quite a bit online, it be obvious that this was purely a myth. Come to think of it, why would a color effect the insurance rate. So yeah, color DOES NOT effect your insurance rate.
