Why doesn't Obama and Congress consent to cross-state competition for Health insurance to lower rates?
That would lower price, and leave the government out of it. Why do we have need of to even discuss 'public option'? Competition is a proven way of lower costs while increasing the level of service, senate administration is a proven way of raise costs and lowering the level of service.
How can anyone not see that this is entirely about socialization of Health Care at the cost of Free Market?
Answers:
Because they're working on making all industries government owned. Isn't it clear by immediately?
How innocent you nouns.
Obama isn't in charge of that, its not a Federal thing, its reserved to the states to build that decision.
The way the insurance companies get hold of around that is to call themselves 'assurance' or discount medical plans.
I live surrounded by highly regulated NY, and my 'discounts' come from Texas.
Its cheap and worth very little.
The through companies don't pass on savings to consumers. They hang on to them, and they try to make more of them by denying claims and raising premiums, they are one of the few industries to take home money even in this recession, and there are solely about seven major companies. They don't compete, they are adjectives within a very suspicious twenty to thirty dollars of respectively other.
Its not a free market at all, its more similar to a cabal that sets prices but can't legally be termed a monopoly.
Government leadership is about 3% of costs, mostly due to pedestrian offices and reined surrounded by executive salaries and, of course, no have need of to make a profit, private insurers are working with a 30% profit, right rotten the bat.
They aren't going to be employing doctors and hospitals, that would be socialism, they are just offering conceivable costs for insurance. That's practical when you consider that insurance companies aren't being held at gunpoint to maintain a clear in your mind level of profitability and they still won't take the aged, the ill, or the working stiff.
Because the only regulations governing the Health Insurance Industry are at the State horizontal - interstate competition would remove them.
Just what we need - a Health Insurance industry with no allowed oversight.
If I have a choice, I would move my insurance company HQ to the weakest state, with the least amount of oversight and the most pliable Governor, someplace where on earth it would be next to impossible to sue me and even harder to collect.
Then I would offer the "Least Expensive " coverage likely.
And never payout a claim, kind of like today.
Because we need to tolerate cross-state competition open up, otherwise there will BE no competition. However, in that are some people out there who quality it's the government's job to regulate and provide health charge for it's citizens, much like they are obligated to provide education.
Well, that usurps your precious "states' rights". Further, while superficially an interesting idea, with the current issues of insurance behemoths looting the public, I am afraid this would singular make the insurance monopolies that much more gargantuan
HMOs of the Usa....born the day Obama took department...
Are you really asking why Democrats don't just repeal Democrat-written laws that are manifestly HAVING their predicted, expected and desired effect?
Your request for information answers itself.
Because he wishes to take away the competition so the government can own a monopoly on the industry. They have the man on video stating he supports a single payer system:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpAyan1fX…
This is proof positive that he wants the elected representatives to run the industry.
(Watch as the thumbs down from the brainwashed liberals fly)
It would only lead to a small bump within the prices. Then the trend would continue ever upward.
Question FAIL.
You only need to look at who still supports Obama.
The racists. He's black, and that's adjectives they care about. They'll support him till the conclude.
The idiots. They're idiots, we can't expect them to make sane decisions.
The worthless, leeches. High cost or low cost, it doesn't issue to them. They want a free government handout and nothing else will do.
This is the perfect solution, open up state boundaries. If someone within New York wants health insurance from Maine that covers only the basics, then that's what we should be capable of do. If someone in California wants vigour insurance that covers acupuncture, tea leaf reading, message therapy along WITH the requisites that they can only find covered by Florida health insurances, next by gosh, by golly, that's what we should be able to do!
Seems logical, doesn't it? Why wouldn't any common sense, sensible thinking person want it this way? Well, let's see....... more and more Americans would opt for purely the basics healthcare insurance. Fewer and fewer citizens would opt for the extravagant fluff plus basics healthcare insurance which would drive up the price for those wanting fluff additions. So, how do they keep the prices down on the ridiculous and farcical fluff healthcare insurance plans? By forcing an entire state to help pay for fluff they don't want, fluff they don't inevitability and fluff they can do without, thank you very much! By closing sour cross-state competition, members of Congress can do favors for their buddies in the business of "fluff for the few" at the expense of everyday, average AMERICAN TAXPAYERS!
It's time to show up at the voting booths and replace the greedy and self-centred members of Congress who care NOTHING roughly speaking the average, hard working American, and elect people who in truth DO CARE - those who will OPEN UP CROSS-STATE COMPETITION FOR HEALTH INSURANCE SO WE CAN GET THE PLAN THAT WORKS FOR OUR INDIVIDUAL SITUATIONS, OUR INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES, OUR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS, AND NOT SO SOME GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRAT/CONGRESSPERSON/PRESIDENT AND THEIR ADMINISTRATION CAN PAD THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS, COZY UP WITH THEIR OWN PRIVATE BUDDIES AND DO FAVORS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T GIVE A RAT'S BEHIND ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN GENERAL!
VOTING BOOTH! 2010 and 2012! NEW SCRIPT, NEW AGENDAS..... it'll be called THE AMERICAN PEOPLE'S AGENDA, maybe you've hear it before........ A GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND (hold onto your hat for this one) FOR, FOR, FOR THE PEOPLE (not a moment ago for a chosen few).
