Is pet insurance worthwhile and who are the top rate?
We had our cat die about a year ago suddenly, and the one dark in the emergency room cost us $1600. We now hold two new cats and I'm looking into getting pet insurance for them. My questions are is pet insurance worth it to achieve, and if yes, who are the top rated providers?
I would also like to hear from anyone who in actuality has had to user their pet insurance and their experience near it, from the beginning of their pets health problems, to the billing.

I'd suggest you ask your vet (or a couple of different vets) for their suggestions on pet insurance. Although I'm aware of it, I've never have pet insurance, I just paid out of pocket when the entail arose. I suppose you need to read "the fine print" in the insurance contracts to see what your money is purchasing.
I wish we'd have that for one of ours, but he came to us injured and we would not have be able to get insurance on him for that rationale. You need to start with a stout cat, and NO pre-existing conditions.
Our Hudson cost us $6,700 over the course of 12 years, at the other end of the spectrum one of our others was singular the cost of checkups and vaccinations till she reached age 14, afterwards she was hyperthyroid. It really varies per cat.
I hold my dog insured through Trupanion. I've only had it a couple months so I haven't have to file any claims yet, but it seem that they repay claims within a couple of days. I chose them as they seemed to be the best beside everything really straight forward and easy to understand and no gimmick.
They cover 90% of the bill no matter what it is, no claim limits or annual limitations. They don't increase the premiums as your pets age and you can choose your own deductible.
I would honestly suggest you skip out on routine care. It doesn't save you any money whatsoever, and you typically wage more through the insurance company than to pay it yourself. They usually have to charge you a touch more than the actual costs to make it worth it for the company to provide you that service.
A good site to check out also is petinsurancereview.com that have some great ratings and reviews of all the companies. From there, be in motion to some of the websites and get free quotes to see what you're looking at.
Good luck. Source(s): http://www.trupanionpetinsurance.com
