Insurance Rates ?

Ok, I've been told by a reliable source that if you own a certain breed of dog that's on a restricted schedule at an apartment, the landlord's rates can increase.

Well here's an example.. Say that I have a pit bull. And I found an apartment that feel mighty right for me. But the apartment doesn't allow pit bulls, rottweilers, dobermans and shepherds.

Well, is it possible to cover the dog next to your own insurance if your insurance company insures those breeds so you can keep the dog ?
Answers:
What insurance covers for this type of dog? I work in insurance and know that so far adjectives the carriers I've ever worked with will not insure it.
Most carrier will have you sign a waiver of liability on this dog so be expecting it. Also, take precaution, when the dog decide to bite, you will be liable and sued.
What exactly is the apartment's rule?
1) If the rule is that such dogs are only allowed next to insurance, then make sure you go and get the type of insurance required by the landlord. But I really doubt this is the case.

2) Much more credible, the rule is no dogs of those breeds, period. In that case, even if you can find insurance (which I doubt), it won't net any difference in terms of the apartment. No pit bulls funds no pit bulls.

Additionally, depending upon where you live, landlords may well be capable of charge more for pets or even for certain types of pets. Where I live, many apartments charge an supplementary $50-$100 per month per dog...but that's only for the breeds they allow. Many landlords prohibit the breeds you mention. Many include Chow Chows on the list, too. If someone have a dog that's on the list, the dog cannot live there. They any need to find another home for the dog or live elsewhere.
There is only one insurance company that I know of that will insure the property of a pit bull owner, and solely then with a dog exclusion so that you hold no liability coverage for the dog. None of the other companies will even talk to you. Source(s): Independent Agent
That's up to the apartment management. You're asking for an exception to their rules.
