Will driving "points" from a trip contained by New Jersey, affect my insurance rates contained by Maryland?

I received a ticket in New Jersey. Will the points carry-over to Maryland, increasing my insurance? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from occurring?
Answers:
Yes, your insurance company does not care where on earth the points were incurred. Just that you have them on your dictation.
It may help yourself to some time, but it will probably catch up to you sooner or later. My cousin from Minnesota have this happen to her 2 years after her ticket.
Only driving violations in states that cooperate next to maryland will show up on your maryland driving record. I'm sure NJ does cooperate with MD
