Insurance rate on a 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager?

I recently bought a new saloon and have given the older minivan to my 16-yr dated son. How bad will the insurance rate be for him to drive it
Answers:
Can't tell you; only your agent or the company can do that. If he's the primary driver on the van, it will be rate as such and expensive, but he won't be rated on the new vehicle since he's timetabled as primary on the older one. Drop the comprehensive and collision coverages on the older one, since they're the most expensive, and it's ten years antediluvian now. It wouldn't be worth the money on a 16-year-old.
Price shop - it's the one and only way.
As observed, if you add him to your policy, he may shutting up rated with your most expensive to insure vehicle.
Get a price quote for that and later explore insuring him separately. I don't know if this is always possible, but I know I see policies regularly where a 16-year-old is the policy owner. This allows you to place him near a company that has more favorable rates for younger drivers.
You never know what's going to be cheapest until you explore.
Sit down with vehicle authorization numbers, drivers license numbers and all basic information and a phone, a computer or an agent and do some "what if" scenario. It's really the best way to get an accurate quote.
Every insurance company calculate their rates differently, and that is why some are less expensive for one group than others. They tend to do the math contained by a way that favors their target market. Source(s): 16 years within insurance in underwriting sale and claims

Chrysler does not make the Grand Voyager. The Grand Voyager is made by Plymouth. If you put your son on your policy, your son will be rate as the driver of your new car. The utmost rated driver is assigned to the highest rate vehicle for rating purposes. That does not mean he must drive the new motor. Source(s): insurance broker
