Anyone know whats going on near my insurance quote?

I am REALLY confused about these quotes i got, i own my test booked for the 10th of december and i am thinking about insurance so i get a quote for me on my dads car, the original quote for me (anticipated full uk license) and my dad (full uk) be approx lb2400 and i thought that was ok but then i established to find out what my quote would be with a provisional and i got the cheapest quote of lb1500...........................

i cant speak much more than that........anyone understand why the hell they would charge a full uk license holder more than a provisional. I did not put in any other details, i single amended the named driver license (me). oh incase this is encouraging anyone, the provisional quote was beside quinn (i think its spelt that way) and the full license quote was near churchhill.

anyone got an answer??
Answers:
Full UK more because you would be driving on your own.

On a provisional licence you are always accompanied and also you can't drive on the motorway.
On a provisional license, your father would be in the car near you at all times, you would not be in the coupé on your own. With a full license, there could be times when you are on your own in the vehicle, without someone who has the experience, hence the premium would be difficult.

Try going for the pass plus scheme, it will drop you premium by a third. Fit an alarm and immobiliser. Say that your coupé is in a garage overnight. Reduce the yearly mileage. All of these things would cut back on your yearly insurance premium.
The quote on your provisional will be lower for 2 reasons:

1) the excess will be bigger
2) Provisional licence drivers can't drive minus a driver over 21 who has held a full licence for 3 years or more in the motor supervising them.

It sucks but you are best getting yourself insured as the named driver, then you can build up your own no claims bonus.

Insurance with a provisional license is cheaper because there are lasting restrictions, you can't have underage people contained by the car with you and you aren't allowed to drive belated at night, therefore you are smaller number of a liability in the eyes of an insurance company.

The reason your quote on a provisional licence be cheaper is because the insurance company knew you would be driving with a licence holder contained by the passenger seat.

You start driving by yourself and all of a sudden you are a bigger risk.... capably figure that.

Churchill are trying to tell you to find another insurance company as you do not fit their profile. ie I expect they want middle aged customers not younger relatives.

Try looking for insurance on confused.com

Churchill are rip offs, I had my first coupé under quinn, try a full quote with them, if you be a named driver even as a provisional on insurance they give you discounts for your first year.
Hope this help x
simply you are a higher risk to the insurance companies surrounded by the 1st year of your full licence because you are now allowed to drive on your own whereas you were driving beside a fully licenced driver with you on a provisional licence.
near stealing from you!
so get help from someonee.
oh and i love you because you hold british money, which means you have an english elocution and i love english accents!!<3333
