Insurance quote lacking my request.?
i called Progressive Insurance company the other day because i didn't want to extend my policy for another 6 near them that they automatically enrolled me in because they have my information stored.
These are the questions she asked me, please tell me if they own the right to do this. (I guess she does, since i answereD!) but i'd like to know your opinion.
1. Why do you want to abolish (yes this is a valid question)
2. Who are you switching to?
3. how much are they offering?
4. what are you going to have covered with your brand new provider?
Then she goes and tells me to verify everything and verified what i have with them before after like 5 minutes later mortal put on hold..she said "yes, what you were paying before is the best price we can give you"
in my head i'm similar to "!WHAT? did you she just run a quote without my consent?" Can they do this to people!?
iNput please :D

you don't have to answer them, they are just using the social training you hold been exposed to your whole existence to answer questions to there dominance. Same way the police do when they pull you over (you hold the right to remain silent but most people don't) all she be trying to do was make sure they weren't screw you and that they couldn't match or beat the rate you have been offered. Nothing covert or unethical nearby, just a business trying to keep a customer.
yes they can do that. she did it because she wanted to keep you as a client. she be trying to see if they could offer you a better quote than what you got from someone else. Source(s): agent
OK, ALL of the 50 states require that, unless an insurance company has approved to not renew your policy, AND provided you with advance written mind between 30 and 60 days (varies by state) PRIOR to renewal, they MUST provide you with a written renewal quote, or automatically renew the policy.
Aside from question #1, the others are NONE of their business, you don't own to answer. YES, they can run a quote without your permission.
Progressive customer service is HEAVILY scripted. She's going to try to homily you into staying with progressive. That's what she gets salaried to do. That's how they handle cancellation call. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Yes its allowed. You are under no obligation to answer the question. If you want to cancel, just instruct them to repeal.
Pfffft. Of course.
The Progressive individuals on the phone are sales people. All she be doing was trying to sell you a trial 6 month policy.
Of course it's legal. YOU called THEM.
