I recieved a quote from contractor in need unfolding him it be insurance claim.?
I wanted to get a few estimates and consequently decide who i wanted to do the work. insurance co. put the contractors autograph on the check.when he found out about the insurance claim he changed the quote doing alot less work for more money. this doesn't give the impression of being right to me could i please have some feedback. thank you.

Doesn't seem right to me, any. Tell him you're not signing the check over to him until ALL the work is done, at the original price he quoted.
OR, flat out hire another contractor (not to be paid until adjectives the work is completed!) and ask the adjuster to reissue the check, made payable to you and the mortgagee. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
If you have a quote in writing I do not see how he can transmutation it just because he found out the insurance company is who is paying. I have hear that businesses will quote more when an insurance company is involved. But did he ask you about insurance being involved? You should probably hold 2-3 estimates anyway. So then you won't have to matter with the one that won't "play fair".
