Does getting quotes from coup¨¦ insurance companies lower your credit gain?
I've heard that everytime you apply for a credit card, get insurance quotes, etc. your credit ranking gets lowered.
Is this true? If so, how much?

No it does not lower your credit score but the insurance companies are using your credit evaluation to determine how much of a risk factor you are to them.
