Although MOST insurance companies are checking your credit, at hand are STILL some in the market place that do NOT.
Just look surrounded by your local phone book for an independent agent and have them give you a quote. Tell them that your credit is not too flawless so they will know in advance not to spend any time going to a company that DOES check your credit.
In my agency, we have over a dozen different companies for car insurance and in the order of a third of them do NOT do a credit score.
If you go to one of the 1-800 companies or an Internet base company, you can be sure that they WILL run a credit score.
