Can the provision of right to information be used against private insurance companies?
Neither ICICI Lombard nor their TPA "TTK Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd." is not giving any reply about my pending claim status.
Answers:
If they aren't YOUR insurance company - ie, if you are not the policy holder - they have no OBLIGATION to adopt a claim from you.
If you're not the policy holder, you have no right to the information.
However, you refer to a TPA. Is this a workers comp claim? They should accept, deny, or request more information in 10 days. The "more information" would come from a doctor. You aren't entitled to know it, if they suspect fraud and sic a PI on you. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
Doubtful.
The HCFA which is the acronym for Healthcare Commission Financial Administration is the federal program that oversees the state smooth of the insurance commissioner's office which is in every state. I know because I hold had to write them and complain several times and the insurance company does respond. You ARE entitled to know your status and do not let the insurance affiliated population on yahoo tell you that you are not. Insurance companies fall below policies and procedures just like other companies, and they hold a certain time frame to respond to a claim. For example, in NC for existence insurance policy the insurance company has to respond within 30 days. I am a medical malpractice attorney and work next to insurance companies every day and they will give you the run around, but most will respond when you budge over their heads to the state insurance commissioner so Good Luck!.
